
Jim is a Principal and Shareholder of Brown Schultz Sheridan & Fritz and is a key member of the Firm's Audit and Accounting Committee. Jim specializes in the audits of local governments, including townships and boroughs, along with nonprofit entities. As an accountant in this niche specialty, Jim has provided a broad range of services to these clients including the preparation of comprehensive annual financial reports, grant close-out reports and federal, state and local financial assistance, compliance reporting in accordance with Government Auditing Standards and OMB Circular A-133 and Department of Labor reporting requirements. His breadth of work primarily serves the Central PA region of Harrisburg, Lancaster and York.
Jim has gained significant experience providing audit, tax and advisory services for clients in a variety of industries as the co-owner of a local accounting firm for 17 years before joining Brown Schultz Sheridan & Fritz in 2006. Jim has earned the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants Certificate of Educational Achievement in governmental accounting and auditing. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Clarion University.
Additionally, Jim works closely with the Firm's small business practice to meet the needs and expectations of his small business clients including bookkeeping, payroll services and tax planning and preparation. He also is responsible for tax planning and tax preparation for a large number of individual tax clients.
