Brown Plus: A History

Since our founding in 1990, Brown Plus has grown both organically and through strategic acquisitions. Our goal as a firm is to continuously grow to meet the needs of our clients, expanding to provide value rather than just for the sake of expansion. In our timeline below, you will find key moments from our founding to today.

January 2024

  •   Brown Schultz Sheridan & Fritz (BSSF) announces a rebrand, changing our name to Brown Plus.

September 2022

  • BSSF Wealth merges with Lighthouse Wealth Management and adds new advisor Teancum D. Light, JD, CPA, CFP®, taking the Lighthouse Wealth Management name.

February 2022

  • BSSF partners with Carli Lehr, CPA, CVA, CSEP, to form BSSF Valuation & Litigation Consulting.

October 2021

  • The BSSF Lancaster office moves to 454 New Holland Avenue, Suite 101, Lancaster, PA 17602.

December 2020

  • BSSF partners with James K. Adams, III, CFA, CFP® to form BSSF Wealth.

June 2019

  • RLH CPAs & Business Advisors (RLH) merges into BSSF, adding 31 team members and three new office locations in Hanover, Pennsylvania, and Frederick and Westminster, Maryland.

December 2012

  • The BSSF Lancaster office moves to 201 Granite Run Drive in Lancaster to accommodate a growing team.

January 2009

  • Bazella Dombrowski & Company merges into BSSF, expanding our tax practice and presence in Lancaster County.

January 2006

  • Chubb & Associates merges into BSSF, expanding our Tax Practice and Governmental Practice.

October 2000

  • Thomas C. Wetzel merges into BSSF, establishing our Dealership Practice.

January 2000

  • The Firm’s headquarters are moved to 210 Grandview Avenue in Camp Hill.

October 1998

  • Brown Schultz joins forces with Sheridan & Fritz and becomes Brown Schultz Sheridan & Fritz (BSSF), expanding our tax practice.
  • The Firm acquires key personnel to establish the Insurance Practice.

September 1992

  • The Lancaster office is established.

November 1990

  • Bruce Brown and the other partners of the Harrisburg Laventhol & Horwath (L&H) office formed Brown Schultz Snyder Mutzel & Plesic, keeping all of the Harrisburg team members employed after L&H filed for bankruptcy.
