Meet Randy Fackler: Principal and Tax Director

At Brown Schultz Sheridan & Fritz (BSSF), we are excited to announce our new Principal and Tax Director, Randy Fackler. Randy has over 30 years of experience in public accounting and brings additional knowledge and resources to strengthen our tax expertise at BSSF. He has worked with numerous industries throughout his career in public accounting including, manufacturing, retail and distribution, professional services and more.

His commitment to client service, as well as his dedication to the community, aligns with our Firm’s values. He has served on various boards in the community such as the Four Diamonds Fund at Penn State Hershey Children’s Hospital, the Hershey Aquatic Club, the United Way of the Capital Region and others. He truly believes that you have to give back to the communities that you live and work in.

We had a conversation with Randy about what he is looking forward to the most in 2017.

What are you most looking forward to about working with BSSF?

I have always enjoyed working with privately owned entrepreneurial businesses, and BSSF provides me the opportunity to continue my professional growth and development in that business segment. BSSF is a premier firm in the region with a reputation for excellence in client service, and I look forward to continuing that excellence to the clients. In addition to the clients, I have always enjoyed coaching and mentoring staff. So I look forward to working with the staff as they progress in their careers.

An added bonus is that I am able to continue my commitment to the community through my community involvement. Personally, this is very important to me because I believe in giving back to the communities you live and work in, which is a sentiment that BSSF also shares.

Having been in the accounting industry for over 30 years, what do you find exciting about the industry?

I find a few things exciting in the industry:

  • Working with private companies provides you an opportunity to truly become a trusted business advisor to a client; where they seek your counsel for more than just advice related to taxes and financial statements.
  • In the current year, with the New Administration, the discussion of tax reform is exciting because this will provide opportunities for us to work with our clients to understand the implications of tax reform.

What is your favorite thing about the Central Pennsylvania community?

I am originally from York, PA. However, I left the area for about 15 years to live in and around the Baltimore area.  Returning to Central PA 15 years ago and getting involved in the community through the schools and various nonprofit organizations has been great.

I have a family of five – my wife, my triplets and myself – and it was good to be back in the area. We really enjoyed how willing people were to welcome us, and we still enjoy how open everyone is in our community. Plus, as a family of five, the amenities offered in the area like Hershey Park, Hershey Theater, the Senators and all the other family-friendly entertainment is wonderful to have.

Did you make any new goals or resolutions for the new year?

To excel in my career at BSSF.
